Solar Coatings
A selective black silicone-based heat resistant coating that is easy to apply to solar panels and withstands weather and repeated thermal cycling is available from Dampney Company, Inc. of Everett, Massachusetts.
Dampney Thurmalox® 250 Solar Collector Coating selectively absorbs wavelengths with the greatest heat content when used on the metal surfaces of collector panels having glazed covers. It collects heat energy more efficiently than ordinary, non-selective black paints, which emit a significant amount of the energy they absorb. Designed for painting flat panels, this coating is easy to apply, dries for handling in 30 minutes, won’t peel or flake, and withstands repeated thermal cycling.
Suitable for use on aluminum, stainless steel and copper, Dampney Thurmalox® 250 Solar Collector Coating is offered in 13 oz. aerosol cans, gallons, and drums for application by conventional spray guns or brush. Ideal for manu-facturers, contractors, and do-it-yourselfers, it resists UV degradation, is unaffected by heat and humidity, and exhibits no outgassing to 400°F.
Dampney Thurmalox® 250 Solar Collector Coating is available in a 13 oz. aerosol can. Gallons and drums are priced depending upon quantity. Dealer and distributor inquiries are invited.
